Manzanares Mon Amour is a performance about the fuzzy and uncertain ways in which transgenerational memory unfolds and takes place in the body. How is it possible to navigate these multiple layers of history? All the unknown names and surnames, all the joy and the sorrow, the millions of hectares of plowed land, the years spent only in the company of a mule, all the hard work... In the form of a rural elegy, the piece is a constant failed attempt to build an atmosphere of celebration, creating a fertile tension from where vitality emerges, making its way through grief, misfortune and loss, as a way to defy death.


Manzanares Mon Amour es una performance sobre las maneras difusas e inciertas en las que se desarrolla y se manifiesta la memoria transgeneracional en el cuerpo. ¿Cómo es posible navegar por estas múltiples capas de historia? Todos los nombres y apellidos desconocidos, toda la alegría y la tristeza, los millones de hectáreas de tierra arada, los años pasados solo en compañía de una mula, todo el trabajo duro... Tomando la forma de una elegía rural, la pieza es un constante intento fallido de construir una atmósfera de celebración. Desde esta tensión fértil, emerge la vitalidad abriéndose paso entre el duelo, la desgracia y la pérdida, como forma de desafiar a la muerte.
